Today I packed up some things to take on our “few days away” the only thing that kept screaming at me was my tickle trunk of art supplies. The name tickle trunk came from the lovable Mr. Dressup.
As a child I watched Mr. Dressup in the morning while my mother did all the things that needed to be done with out me hanging around. What a kind man he was!
Now I am all grown up and get my own trunk, actually mine is a hard shell suitcase from the 60’s. My friend, Nancy started me collecting them. I have a few, she has lots!!!!
So when we sold the store I packed up all my most precious art making supplies into that suitcase. I have made the commitment to make that my traveling art studio. So this trip is the first test drive I will make a list of things that need to be added and taken away. After 6 months of test drives I should have some kind of working order.
This trip I am starting my one sentence journal. This will include art work and of course all the fortunes I have amassed! Yes I am fortune-ate!!
“When we engage in what we are naturally suited to do, our work takes on the quality of play and it is play that stimulates creativity.” – Linda Naiman
“Creativity is inventing, experimenting, growing, taking risks, breaking rules, making mistakes, and having fun.” — Mary Lou Cook
“So you see, imagination needs moodling – long, inefficient, happy idling, dawdling and puttering.” — Brenda Ueland
One sentence journal?
tell me more.
Amy
You would love these journals. I have one that is the size of a change purse about 3″x4″ . Everyday I write one sentence to release an emotion, share a thought, sometimes it’s only one word. Then I spend about 30 minutes creating a drawing or sketch or add an image to the page. I will email you a couple of images.
See you Sunday…… digitally.
