This is the season where my passions collide.
Harvest is upon us, the bees have given us their gift of liquid love. Jars of canning line the pantry and the drying porch is filling up.
As I wrap up the garden for this year, my thoughts go to my studio and all the pots waiting to be born. Fall in my studio is like spring in the garden. The promise of new life, new ideas. It’s an intense time with endings and beginnings. The spring marks the end of the studio intensive, the door swings open and we head outdoors. The fall brings fires in the wood stove, big pots of soup simmering and a sketch book of ideas to bring forward.
This Saturday we are celebrating the harvest with the 2nd annual Garlic Festival.
Local garlic growers will be here, selling culinary and seed garlic. We will be sampling garlic inspired dishes and of course pizza. I will be offering garlic storage pots.
At 3pm on Saturday, Louise from Patterson Springs Farm and Cheryl from Forage and Farm will be presenting a information circle on everything you wanted to know about growing and storing garlic.
Continuing the harvest theme, I will doing a sauerkraut making demo at 2 pm. There will be fermenting crocks available.
We will have other guest makers from our community in attendance also.
We will have honey for sale, lots of honey! 500 ml and 2 kg pails and candles!
Tiny Springs Farm has a nice variety of protein for your freezer. They will also have farm eggs available.
Hope you can make it out for the afternoon. Everyone welcome.
